Scholarship Incentive Program (ScIP)

Scholarship Overview: Needs based scholarship for students attending a Delaware institution full-time or enrolled full-time at an out of state accredited institution in an undergraduate program not offered in the State of Delaware.
Application Available: January 2, 2024
Deadline Date: June 15, 2024

Scholarship Details:

Eligibility:

  • Delaware resident for at least 12 consecutive months immediately prior to the application deadline.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • EXTENDED!  File the 2024-2025 FAFSA by June 15, 2024 and demonstrate financial need
  • Enroll full-time in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited institution in Delaware
  • Or enroll fulltime in an out of state, accredited institution in an undergraduate or graduate degree program that is not offered at the University of Delaware, Delaware State University, or Delaware Technical Community College

Restrictions:

  • Minors, non-degree, diploma, certificate, or continuing education programs are not eligible .
  • Independent study, individualized majors and other arranged or negotiated programs of study are not eligible.
  • A student cannot receive the Scholarship Incentive Program for more than 5 years for either undergraduate or graduate study

Award Details:

Graduate awards: $1,000/year
Undergraduate awards: $1,000/year
Award is not renewable but applicants can apply each year.

In order to apply for scholarships from the DHEO, you first need to Create your Student Account in the Delaware Higher Education Financial Aid Portal (https://higheredstudent.doe.k12.de.us/#registration)
Once you create your Student Account you will be able to apply for available scholarships through the online portal.

Helpful tip: The email address entered in the registration form will become your User ID. All notifications will be sent to this email address. Please make sure you use an active email address that you will check regularly. DO NOT USE your high school email address.
