Scholarship Overview: Merit scholarship for high school seniors who plan to attend Delaware State University

Scholarship Details:

This is a merit scholarship available to high school seniors who will graduate from a Delaware public or private high school and plan to attend Delaware State University.  This scholarship covers all education costs including tuition, mandatory fees, room & board, and books!

Eligibility Requirements:

• Open to high school seniors with strong academic records (minimum 3.0 GPA
  and SAT score of at least 1000 or ACT equivalent) and demonstrate financial need
• Recipients must enroll full–time at Delaware State University
• Delaware resident for at least 12 consecutive months immediately prior to the application deadline
• Applicants are required to complete the online scholarship application and submit the 2026–2027 FAFSA by February 27, 2026

Application Requirements:

• Apply online at Delaware Higher Education Financial Aid Portal
• Provide academic information to the Delaware Higher Education Office (DHEO).  DHEO will automatically obtain academic information for public school students.  Private school students will be required to submit a high school transcript after completing the application
• The application will ask for anticipated 2026–2027 enrollment information (institution and major) as well as a list of student activities. Academic records (GPA and SAT/ACT) and the 2026–2027 FAFSA will be required and collected during the review process

Renewable for up to three additional years with a cumulative GPA of 3.0
One scholarship is awarded each academic year.

In order to apply for scholarships from the DHEO, you first need to Create your Student Account in the Delaware Higher Education Financial Aid Portal (https://higheredstudent.doe.k12.de.us/#registration)
Once you create your Student Account you will be able to apply for available scholarships through the online portal.

Helpful tip: The email address entered in the registration form will become your User ID. All notifications will be sent to this email address. Please make sure you use an active email address that you will check regularly. DO NOT USE your high school email address.
