USDA/1890 National Scholars Program
Scholarship Overview: Scholarship for current high school seniors and undergraduate students to increase the number of minorities studying agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, and related disciplines.
Deadline Date: December 31, 2022
Scholarship Details:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
- Have been accepted for admission or currently attending one of the nineteen 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities (https://www.aplu.org/members/councils/1890-universities/council-of-1890s-institutions.html).
- Study agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related academic disciplines
- Demonstrate leadership and community service
Application Requirements:
- Submit an official transcript with the school seal and an authorized official’s signature
- Submit a signed application (original signature only)
- Standard scores of at least- 21 ACT or 1080 SAT scores
*All USDA/1890 National Scholars are required to commit to at least one year of service with the USDA for each year of financial assistance provided.

Award Amount: $200,000
Award Details:
Full tuition, as well as room and board
Renewable all four years
