Scholarship Overview: High school seniors and postsecondary students who are making a positive impact on the Asian & Pacific Islander and LGBTQIA+ communities

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must self-identify with the API and/or LGBTQIA+ communities
- Must be attending an accredited post-secondary institution (community college, university, and trade/vocational school) in the United States in the upcoming academic year (starting in the Fall of this current year) when applying
- Strong history of engagement within the Asian & Pacific Islander and/or LGBTQIA+ communities.

Essay Details:
1. How has your personal journey shaped your past and/or your current lived experience? (500 word limit)
*We honor the spectrum of lived experiences. Aside from your personal experiences, you may also consider familial and cultural circumstances.
2. Tell us how you have made or are making an impact on the API and/or LBGTQ+ community? (500 word limit)
*We honor a broad definition of “impact” and encourage you to share your examples of impact including leadership roles, direct involvement, volunteerism, personal courage, perseverance, overcoming hardships, etc.
3. What vision do you want for your community or communities, whatever “community” means for you? (250 word limit)
*We allow you to define “community” and encourage you to articulate a vision for a community or communities that you most closely identify with
4. Optional: Is there anything else that you want us to know about you? (100 word limit)
*We allow you to define “community” and encourage you to articulate a vision for a community or communities that you most closely identify with.
Award Amount: $5,000
Award Details:
The Prism Foundation Scholarship will range from $1000–$5000, and several scholarships are awarded in a calendar year.
The check will be mailed directly to the financial aid office at your institution of learning that handles Outside Scholarships.
