Eligibility Requirements:
- Current sophomores, juniors, and seniors that attend a public or private high school or are enrolled in a home school in the United States
- Must have a College Board account
How to Enter Monthly Drawling:
- Log in or create a College Board account
- Find open steps on your dashboard and complete the task
- Voilà! You’ve earned an entry into monthly scholarship drawings.
About the Monthly Drawlings:
- Each month, eligible students will automatically be entered into drawings when they complete each qualifying BigFuture College Planning Step.
- Earn entries in monthly drawings for $500 and $40,000 scholarships by completing the six qualifying steps on BigFuture. If you don’t win, your entry rolls over for the next month.
- Students whose families earn less than $60,000 a year have more chances to earn scholarships.
Award Amount: $40,000
Award Details:
Every month, when students earn a $40,000 or $500 scholarship, each student recipient will receive an email to the address associated with their College Board account notifying them that they have won that month and the amount of their scholarship. Recipients will be notified by email and see their winner status updated on BigFuture on the 15th of every month.
Winners can use scholarships to cover tuition, fees, books, and other relevant educational expenses

Additional Scholarship Information:
College Board partners with Scholarship America to disburse the awards. Students must claim their scholarship within 60 calendar days of being notified that they were selected. Instructions to receive their funds will be shared directly with winners in the spring of their senior year. In August after they graduate high school, Scholarship America will send $500 and $40,000 winners a check payable to the college or university that a student attends. $40,000 scholarships are usually paid in installments at the discretion of the winner and in consultation with their college or university. No later than May of their senior year, Scholarship America will ask recipients to confirm their contact information and the institution where they plan to enroll in the fall.
