Scholarship Overview: Delaware high school senior planning to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

Scholarship Details:
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States
- Complete or have completed high school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) and be entering their freshman year of college next fall
- Attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) for the entirety of their college education.
- Affirm financial need
- Be a Delaware resident
Application Requirements:
- Completed online application
- Provide most recent, verifiable high school transcript (Subject to authentication)
- Provide proof of acceptance at an HBCU (Acceptance letters can be submitted through 4/11/24)
- Provide two (2) letters of recommendation. One recommendation from a professional member of your academic institution and the other from a non-related community member.
Areas reviewed by the Selection Committee include, but are not limited to the following:
- Academic accomplishments
- Demonstration of leadership
- Community involvement

250 word short essay on:
Community service provides the opportunity to acquire important life skills and knowledge and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. In your own words, please explain the value of community service and what life skills/knowledge you’ve gained as a result of your engagement.
Award Amount: $25,000
Award Details:
The scholarship can be used for tuition, room and board. A student may accept additional scholarships but they cannot exceed the total cost of their education.
