Scholarship Overview: Graduating high school senior from a local private or public high school, charter or home school

Scholarship Details:

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Graduating high school senior from a local private or public High School, Charter or Home school.
  2. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident and use the forms provided.

Application Requirement:

  1. All submissions must be typewritten and maybe submitted electronically.
  2. Official transcripts of student grades from 9th grade to date of submission must be attached. These may be photocopies that bear an original signature of the proper school authority.
  3. High School Students must submit SAT or ACT test scores or related equivalent documents. These may be photocopies.
  4. Exhibits, such as awards and media items, should be included and may be photocopies as well.
  5. Two (2) signed letters of recommendation from school or community leaders must be obtained.
  6. An Essay (detailed listed below)

All pages must be signed by the applicant, parent/guardian or  VFW Post 7447 sponsor as applicable.

Application Requirements: Delaware Residents Only, Essay, Letter(s) of Recommendation, SAT/ACT Score Report, Transcript

Essay Details:

An essay containing statements of self & activities must be submitted. Essay length should be no more than two (2) typewritten pages.
In essay form discuss:
-your home life including after-school activities, interests & community service
-your school life, including awards & honors
-your need for this scholarship and how you would apply the award
-your career objectives, goals and your plans for the future.
