Women at Microsoft Scholarship

Scholarship Overview: High school seniors who self-identify as a woman and will enroll next fall in an undergraduate or trade school and major in tech, engineering, math, or computer science-related field

Scholarship Details:

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Be a graduating high school senior
  2. Self-identify as a woman*
  3. Plan to enroll in full-time in a tech, engineering, math, or computer science related undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school, in the United States, for the entire upcoming academic year.**
  4. Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent
  5. Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  6. Demonstrate financial need.
  7. Employees and children of employees of Microsoft are ineligible.

  *Non-binary people, those who are gender fluid, and women of transgender experience are encouraged to apply.
  **International applicants are welcome to apply if they will attend school in the U.S.

Application Requirements:

  1. Completed Online Application
  2. Transcript
  3. If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately.
  4. A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  5. One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 18, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Award Amount: $5,000
Award Details:

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to seven (7) awards will be granted.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Seattle Foundation. Payment is made in early August. Payments are made payable to the school and mailed to the school.
