Eligibility Requirements:
- African American high school senior or undergraduate
- 3.5 or higher GPA* (Applicant can also be a student who struggled during his/her first 2 years of high school but turned things around and can demonstrate his or her motivation to succeed, hard work, and commitment during the last two years)
- Contributed to his/her community through community service
Application Requirements: There is no formal application to complete, but the requirements listed below must be met in order to be considered for the scholarship.

- 3 teacher recommendations
- Resume
- Essay

Essay Details:
The essay must include the following content:
1. Why you should be considered for this scholarship
2. Evidence of community service: what you’ve done, dates of service, impact on your community
3. Explanation of how you will continue to serve your community upon graduation from college

Award Details:
Award is between $500-$1,000
Payment is made directly to the student’s college or university.
