Scholarship Details:
The Dave Reynolds Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who best exemplifies the spirit, outstanding character, and talent of the late Dave Reynolds. Dave’s love for life was exemplified in his strive for personal, athletic, and academic excellence; and how he motivated those around him to conquer life’s challenges. He was a 3 sport all-state athlete, captain in each sport he played, and an All-American lacrosse player at Caesar Rodney High School. Dave served as Wesley College’s Men’s Lacrosse Coach when he tragically lost his life in a surfing accident in the spring of 2003. His passion touched many and he can continue to do so through the scholarship named in his honor.
Eligibility Requirements:
- The applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a Delaware high school who will be attending Delaware State University as a full-time student in the next academic year. OR a current full-time Delaware State University undergraduate student who graduated from a Delaware high school and plans to attend Delaware State University full-time in the next academic year.
- The applicant must have obtained a minimum of one varsity letter in athletics while attending a Delaware high school.

Essay Details:
What is your personal definition of excellence? What have you done, what will you do at Delaware State University, and how will Delaware State University best help you to achieve excellence in academics, athletics, and/or other life endeavors?
Award Amount: $4,000
Award Details:
This annual $1,000 scholarship is automatically renewable for up to three undergraduate years (total of $4,000); however, the scholarship awardee must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, and have successively completed the following minimum credits in order to retain the scholarship
After 1 year 30 credits
After 2 years 60 credits
After 3 years 90 credits
