Scholarship Overview: Minority, female students from New Castle County that are/will be pursing a bachelor’s/graduate degree in education at a Delaware college/university.

Scholarship Details:

The purpose of the Katherine B. Ross Education Scholarship is to assist college and graduate students pursuing a degree in education and to promote Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. scholarship principles. The scholarship targets under-represented minority students (African-Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans) who are residents of New Castle County, Delaware, or students matriculating at a Delaware college or university.

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Current college or graduate students
2. Under-represented minority students (African Americans, Latinos and Native Americans), African American females preferred 
3. Must live in New Castle County OR matriculating at a Delaware college or university.
4. Pursing a degree in education
5. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in a college or university granting a four-year degree or postgraduate degree.

Application Requirements:

1. Completed Application
2. Essay
3. 2 Letters of Recommendation (one from an instructor, the other may be from an additional instructor, employer, school counselor, religious leader, or community leader)
4. Official Transcript
5. Upload Resume or Curriculum Vitae

Please note, you may be asked to interview with the scholarship committee.

Essay Details:

Describe the challenges facing educators in the 21st century and recommend solutions for each of the challenges identified. (3-5 double spaced pages).

The recipients must provide proof of enrollment before funds will be dispensed
