Scholarship Details:
The mission of the Seaford Kiwanis Foundation is to provide college or trade school scholarship assistance to deserving students of the Seaford School District.
- High school seniors who attend Seaford High School or live within the Seaford School District while attending any public, charter, private, or home school are eligible to apply.

Scholarships are for $6,000 — $1,500 for each of the expected four years of college attendance based upon satisfactory progress towards a degree. The criteria include financial need, community service, academic standing, and quality of the application itself.

Essay Details:
Given that Kiwanis is a service organization, the scholarship emphasizes service which the applicant has provided to his school, church, or community; a short essay related to service is a part of the application.
Award Amount: $6,000
Award Details:
The $6,000 award is divided among the expected four years of college. Award winners submit copies of their first semester grades each January, and the Foundation then sends a expense reimbursement check of $1,500 each year. Students must maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA and must be enrolled full-time at the institution.

Scholarship application forms are available each year from the school guidance counselors or on the Seaford Kiwanis’ website. Students print and complete the application form and then mail it to the Kiwanis — P.O. Box 1017, Seaford, DE 19973. The application must be completed carefully, must include required signatures (applicant, parent, guidance counselor), must include a copy of the high school transcript, and must be received by the stated deadline listed on the application (typically late March).

Since it official formation as a 501(C) (3) organization the Seaford Kiwanis Foundation has provided scholarships to almost 100 students totaling well over half a million dollars.
