MATRA Scholarship

Scholarship Overview: Sophomore college or technical school students with interest in a career in the special event and tent industry

Scholarship Details:

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be completing their first year of university, college or technical school/community college and will be entering their sophomore year (or higher) full time.
  2. Applicants must be a current MATRA (Manufacturers and Tent Renters Association) member or immediate family member. (Current means dues are paid in full for a consecutive two-year period).
    1. Part-time attendance will be considered if the student has at least nine credit hours.

Selection Criteria: Recipient is selected based on academic achievement and community service, with a preferred interest in a future career in the special event and tent industry.

Essay Details:

Margaret Richey was interested in funding a medical school student who wanted to practice medicine in an economically depressed area of the US or an underdeveloped country. Does this interest you and how would you pursue this?

Award Amount: $7,500

Award Details:

One $7,500 award or greater at the discretion of the Delaware Community Foundation board of directors.
Students may reapply each year if minimum 3.0 GPA is maintained.
