Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be a Delaware resident
  2. Enrolling in an accredited school of medicine
  3. Applicant must pursue the highest standards of excellence, ethics, and compassion in the medical profession, as well as his/her academic promise
  4. Must have financial need
  5. Special consideration will be given to applicants demonstrating an entrepreneurial and innovative approach to medicine

Application Requirements:

  1. Completed online application
  2. 1 Recommender (not a family member)
  3. Essay question

Selection Criteria– Applicants will be ranked by each scholarship committee member on the basis of: demonstrating financial need;

  • demonstrated academic promise;
  • recommendation by a teacher, academic advisor, or other appropriate party; and a
  • short essay on why they have chosen a specific medical field.

Award Amount: $5,000

Award Details:

Up to $5,000 one-time award, at the discretion of the Delaware Community Foundation board of directors. Applicants may re-apply for up to three years.
