Scholarship Overview: Delaware high school senior who personifies high ethics as demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity and academic history

Scholarship Details:

This program recognizes college-bound Seniors who personify high ethics as demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity and academic history. Recipients of this scholarship will receive $2,500 to an accredited college or university.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Delaware high school seniors (residents of Delaware) – Applications and essays will be accepted only from high school students who are seniors in the current school year.
• The applicant must have a desire to continue his/her education at an accredited college or university.

• Essay – essay topic to be released in the fall of 2023
• 2 Letters of Recommendation

The recipient of the Scholarship will be honored at an awards ceremony in the Spring and the funds will be distributed directly to the school of higher education upon verification of student’s enrollment.

Application Requirements: Delaware Residents Only, Essay, Letter(s) of Recommendation

Essay Details:

Essay topic to be released fall 2023.
Essay must be 500 words or less, single-spaced on 8.5-inch by 11-inch page.
Entries should include the completed entry form and two letters of recommendation: 300 words or less on one 8.5-inch by 11-inch page, single-spaced. Name must not be on any essay pages to prevent judges from seeing entrants’ identifying information. Essays will be judged by an independent panel selected by the BBB from business and community leaders. A copy of most recent high school transcript is required. Family of BBB staff and board members are not eligible.

Award Amount: $2,500

Award Details:

Recipients of this scholarship will receive $2,500 to an accredited college or university.
Entries for BBB Student Ethics Award will be reviewed by the Selection Committee. Judges will select the scholarship recipients based on their leadership, contributions to their communities and schools, personal integrity, academic accomplishments, and written essay. Applicant may be asked to participate in an interview. Decisions of the judges are final.
