Manufactured or Modular Home Scholarship

Scholarship Overview: Delaware resident living in a manufactured or modular home (1+ year) pursuing college, trade, or technical programs full or part-time next fall.

Scholarship Details:

This scholarship is sponsored by the First State Manufactured Housing Association.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must live in a manufactured or modular home in Delaware for at least one year prior to the application.

Applicaiton Requirements:

  1. Completed application
  2. Essay
  3. Copy of your high school, GED, or college transcript
  4. List of volunteer work, special school activities, community activities, and honors in work/volunteer/school/community
  5. Three letters of reference from teacher, businesspersons, clergy, or community leaders (only one of these may be from a school administrator or teacher). You may copy the included sheet for your letters of reference OR attach your individually typed letters of reference

Selection is based on the essay response, scholastic grades, community involvement, honors recommendations, and personal goals.  Alternates will be selected and move to first place should a winner be disqualified, receive a full scholarship from another source, or decide not to further his/her education.  Recipients and those who are not chosen for this scholarship will be notified via mail in April.

Essay Details:

Type-written 300-word essay Factory-Built Housing: A smart Solution to America’s Housing Crisis (Focus: How this approach meets real-world needs and your motivation to be part of the solution).

Award Amount: $2,500

Award Details:

Four (4) $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors, GED recipients, or students who are currently enrolled in college, technical schools, or trade schools. Full or part-time registration in an accredited program is acceptable.

Award recipients may reapply annually.
