Ecology Wildlife Foundation Scholarship (TMCF)

Scholarship Overview: Students with financial need who will attend an HBCU next fall with a 3.0+ GPA and pursue environmental or conservation-related majors.

Scholarship Details:

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and the Alper Skyland Foundation are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Eligibility Requirements:
  1. Be a full-time enrolled student as an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior or senior at any HBCU during the 2026-2027 academic year
  2. Open to majors:
    1. Wildlife and conservation biology
    2. Environmental science
    3. Environmental studies
    4. Ecology
    5. Natural resource management with environmental conservation relevance
  3. Current cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  4. Must have the 2026-2027 FAFSA on file at your selected university/college by the time of selection
  5. Must be able to demonstrate a financial need
  6. Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

Essay Details:

Create a two-minute video responding to the following:

What core principles or values do you believe are most essential to creating positive change in your community and future career field? How do you plan to embody them in both your educational pursuits and interactions with others?

Award Amount: $10,250

Award Details:

Eight (8) scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship of $10,250 for the 2026-2027 academic year. The total eligible scholarship amount will be allocated in two installments: one during the fall 2026 semester and the second during the spring 2027 semester (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees).
