ADK $1000 Scholarship Zeta Chapter

Scholarship Overview: Graduating senior in one of the three Appoquinimink School District High Schools who will pursue a degree in the education or related field.
Application Available: February 22, 2025
Deadline Date: May 1, 2025

Scholarship Details:

The applicant must be graduating from one of the three Appoquinmink School District High Schools in 2025. The applicant must  intend to pursue a degree in Education and/or related fields (school psychologist, school counselor, speech therapist, school OT, PT, APE etc.)

The criteria listed below must be met in order for the Scholarship Committe to consider your application. All criteria will be considered as we are looking at the whole student.  The application must  be completed and include all of the criteria. It must be postmarked by May 1, 2025.

Criteria to Apply:

* grade point average (as shown on an official high school transcript)
* a demonstration of Community Service during high school career.
* school activities participated in during high school career.
* awards/honors/special recognitions
* career goals  (Can be listed on a separate sheet and attached to the application)
* TWO letters of recommendation:  One from the applicant’s teachers/educational staff  from his/her high school and one from a community member who is not a relative.       (Please attach these two letters to the application or have the person writing it send it directly to the given address.)

Application Requirements: Essay, Letter(s) of Recommendation, Minimum GPA, SAT/ACT Score Report, Transcript

Write a paragraph(s) describing your career goals in detail.

Award Details:

This award is specifically for a senior in the Appoquinimink School District attending Appoquinimink High School, Middletown High School or Odessa High School, pursuing a degree in the education field. The award certificate will be presented at the High School Awards Assembly. A check will be sent to the college when the information is received from the student as to where it is to be sent.
