Scholarship Details:

The Delaware School Nutrition Association (DSNA) is an organization that promotes School  Nutrition in the State of Delaware.  Our members include School Nutrition  Supervisors/Directors, Nutrition Specialists/Registered Dieticians, School Nutrition Secretaries, Cooks, Bakers, Lead Workers, General Workers and Satellite Meal Handlers who are employed by Delaware school districts that participate in USDA Child Nutrition Programs.  More information regarding our organization can be found by visiting www.deschoolnutrition.org.

DSNA is proud to offer Delaware School Nutrition Association Scholarships.  Scholarship funds are generated by the efforts of our members through activities such as silent auctions, raffles, personal donations and other fundraising events.  Scholarship recipients will be awarded a sum of $1,000 to be applied toward their college tuition in a Food & Nutrition-related program for the 2025-2026 school year. One winner from each county will be named and awarded, if applicable.

Scholarship Requirements:

    1. Applicant must be a current high school senior.  The awarding of scholarship is contingent upon successful graduation.
    2. Applicant must be pursuing a college degree in a Food & Nutrition-related program at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university.
    3. Applicant must complete a DSNA Scholarship Application Packet which includes:
      • Completed Scholarship Application including student and building administrator signatures.
      • A list of school and community activities in which applicant participated.
      • Self-completed essay containing 500 words or less.  Essay must be typewritten and double-spaced.  Essay topic provided below.
    4. A copy of the acceptance letter, including major, from the accredited college/university in which applicant will be enrolled in the Fall 2025 term.
    5. One (1) letter of recommendation from an academic source. Deadline for Application: All materials must be POSTMARKED or sent by email to stacy.smith@cape.k12.de.us by Monday, April 8, 2025.
