Scholarship Overview: Graduating female from Sussex County attending either Cape Henlopen, Sussex Central, Indian River, Sussex Tech or Sussex Academy High School

Eligibility Requirements:
- Female graduating senior from one of the following high schools: Cape Henlopen, Indian River, Sussex Academy, Sussex Central, or Sussex Technical.
- Must attend a college or university next fall.
Application Requirements:
- Completed Scholarship Application Form (must be typed or printed); Submit Application Form in PDF format
- Rigorous original essay of up to 400 words that answers the question on the next page
- Current transcript
- List or resume showing leadership roles, activities, interests, community service, and work experience
- Letter of recommendation from someone other than a guidance counselor or family member
- All requirements on checklist MUST be submitted to be considered for a scholarship
- Send all documents in one or more PDF format file(s)
- Submit only one type of AAUW CG Scholarship
- Please understand we will be checking for AI-generated essays

Essay Details:
Address the question below in a typed, double spaced rigorous original essay of no more than 400 words attaching it to this application either as one pdf or as a separate pdf.
Essay Question: “Currently it has become harder to identify misinformation. Describe a new school course or extra-curricular program that would effectively teach media literacy. Explain what you would include and why you believe it would be successful in preparing students to navigate today’s information landscape.”
Award Amount: $5,000
Award Details:
The scholarship will be awarded from the pool of applicants regardless of school. The award will be sent to the winner’s college/university.
