Young Farmers & Ranchers Scholarship
Scholarship Overview: High school seniors and current college students attending college next fall

Scholarship Details:
The Delaware Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee will award scholarships to high school seniors or current college students for the upcoming school year. Two $1,000 scholarships will be given to students who are planning to continue their education with an accredited college or university.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Scholarship applicant or adjacent family (including parents or grandparents) must be members, in good standing, of the Delaware Farm Bureau for at least one year.
- Current high school senior or college student.
- Applicants must attend college full-time.
- Students who have previously received a Delaware Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Scholarship are NOT eligible to apply.
- Applicants who have previously received a Delaware Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, Kent County Farm Bureau, New Castle County Farm Bureau, or Sussex County Farm Bureau Scholarship ARE eligible to apply.

- Work experience, school activities, and extra-curricular activities
- Essays
- Current transcript
- Two letters of recommendation
- Headshot photo

Essay Details:
1. Briefly describe you and your family’s experience in Farm Bureau.
2. Briefly share why you chose your degree.
3. Please describe your passion for agriculture. (500 words)
4. Please describe why it is important for young farmers to be actively involved in shaping the future of agriculture, and explain how you personally advocate within the industry. (500 words)
Award Amount: $1,000
Award Details:
Two $1,000 scholarships will be given to students who are planning to continue their education with an accredited college or university.
Scholarship money will be issued after the student satisfacorily completes their first semester. If the second semester is not completed, the money must be refunded to the Delaware Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee. If the applicant is already attending college, money will be paid once the most current official transcript is recieved.
All scholarship money will be paid directly to the college or university.
