Scholarship Details:

The Sigma Cares Scholarship, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., Lambda Delta Sigma, is an opportunity open to young men who are seniors at a New Castle County high school and are pursuing their education at a 4-year college or university. This scholarship is awarded as a vehicle in helping to decrease the current first-year dropout rate, an issue that is of great importance to the Foundation.

Eligibility Requirements: 

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be a male student graduating from a New Castle County High School.
• Must be accepted at an accredited college or a university pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Must have demonstrated high academic achievement and community service.

Application Requirements:

• Completed application
• Personal statement essay
• Official transcript
• Two (2) letters of recommendation (Optional)
• A letter of acceptance from an accredited college or university.
• *Highly qualified applicants will be selected for interviews.

Essay Details:

Describe your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your future field of study and goals (minimum of 500 words, typed on white paper, and double spaced).
