Scholarship Overview: For Delaware high school students in grades 9–12 to create a one- to two-minute public service video promoting the importance of organ and tissue donation.

Delaware’s Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Board has announced the start of its 2026 Organ Donor Awareness Video Scholarship Contest!

This video public service scholarship contest is open to Delaware high school students (9-12 grade). The contest encourages students to learn about organ and tissue donation and share that message with others.  Applicants are urged to create a one- to two-minute video public service announcement about the importance of organ and tissue donation. As part of their entry, students are encouraged to interview a transplant patient or organ recipient.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Contest open to students in grades 9 to 12, in both public and private schools

Application Requirements:

Entries will be judged on creativity, accuracy, and positive messaging.

  • Video must be submitted as an MP4 file, no larger than 512MB and no longer than two minutes.
  • Videos must NOT show dangerous or reckless driving, or any driving that is in violation of the Delaware Vehicle Code or any Delaware law. Examples include:
    • Holding a phone or using a phone in any way while driving.
    • Anyone not wearing a seat belt.
    • Distracted driving, including putting on makeup, eating, or using a GPS.
    • Speeding, swerving, or racing.
  • As part of their entry, students are encouraged to interview a transplant patient or organ recipient.
  • Any of the above, regardless of location (parking lot, remote area, or moving at a slow speed), will get your submission disqualified.

WINNING SUBMISSIONS MAY BE USED FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES BY DONATE LIFE DELAWARE AND THE DELAWARE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

Suggestions/Try to address these points:

Why are the myths about organ and tissue donation false?

Award Amount: $1,000

Award Details:

Winners in each county of Delaware will receive a $1,000 first-place scholarship or a $500 second-place scholarship. Up to seven winners will be chosen based on creativity, accuracy, and positive messaging.
