Scholarship Overview: Female seniors from Appoquinimink School District pursuing higher education in STEAM, policy/law, healthcare, or education.

Scholarship Details:
This scholarship highlights and supports graduating female seniors from any of the Appoquinimink School District high schools. The AAUW of Middletown is looking to support young women that are going to pursue any higher education degree, including areas in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math), Policy & Law, Healthcare and Education.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a graduating female senior from the Appoquinimink School District
- The applicant must be a citizen of the United States.
- The student must be accepted as next September as freshman at a college or university, to be used for academic purposes only.
- Will pursue a degree in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math), Policy & Law, Healthcare , or Education.
Application Requirements:
- Complete application
- The student should submit one letter of recommendation (i.e. boss, coach, clergy, teacher, family, friend) describing characteristics that sets the student apart from others.
- The student should compose a personal letter stating personal goals for the next 4-6 years, including how the scholarship will help to attain those personal goals.
- An official transcript of the student’s grades is to accompany the application.
* In the event the recipient decides not to attend college, the scholarship will be awarded to an alternate.

Award Details:
Each year, AAUW (American Association of University Women) – Middletown Affiliate awards 3 Scholarships in the Amount $1,500.00 each, typically, for one graduating female from each of the Appoquinimink School District High Schools.
