Scholarship Overview: Creative Scholarship for students in grades 6-8 to celebrate the Constitution

Scholarship Details:
The “We The Future” Contest by Constituting America offers scholarships for middle school students through categories including essay, song, STEM, short film, social media video, and PSA submissions. All topics focus on the topic of the Constitution.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Open to students in all 50 states, D.C., U.S. territories, and Armed Forces schools abroad.
- Student must be in grades 6-8
- Original work is required, though limited AI editing tools are permitted.

Essay Details:
Optional Essay:
Write a 500-700 word essay explaining the following sentences from the Declaration of Independence and explore why it was a groundbreaking concept at the time – and how these words continue – 250 years later – to inspire our country and leaders, with special focus on “consent of the governed.”
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”
Students may also select to submit a song, STEM, short film, social media video, or PSA.
Award Amount: $200
Award Details:
Awards and Prizes – $200 gift card per winner.
The five middle school winners will be contacted directly through the contact information provided on the Contest Signup Form. Winners will also be announced on www.constitutingamerica.org.
