University of Delaware Esports Scholarship

Scholarship Overview: These partial scholarships are for incoming University of Delaware students who are interested in joining one of our 6 esports teams and perform at an exceptional level in those titles and have good academic credentials. The titles are Hearthstone, League Of Legends, Overwatch2, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. & Valorant

Scholarship Details:

The University of Delaware is excited to offer several esports scholarship opportunities. Gaming scholarships will be awarded to a select number of current esports players and incoming students interested in joining our Blue Hen Esports teams.

All esports players will be asked to submit game highlights, game rankings, and in-game statistics to help staff evaluate their abilities. Partial scholarships will be awarded to qualified students for each academic year. These scholarships will be based on game experience, highest in-game rank, team-based need, and individual competitive accolades.

Award can be renewable for up to 4 years of eligibility provided the student remains in good academic standing (2.5 GPA or above) and remains at the top level of their chosen game title.

The priority application deadline is March 20, 2023.

Application Requirements: GPA

Award Amount: Up to $3000 per year (awarded in increments in fall and spring semester)
Award Details:

Upon acceptance and matriculation to UD, funds will be credited to student balance through the student financial office. Award can be renewable for up to 4 years of eligibility provided the student remains in good academic standing (2.5 GPA or above) and remains at the top level of their chosen game title.
